Breckenridge Community & Area Information

Breckenridge is a town located in Colorado's Rocky Mountains and a premier destination for alpine activities like skiing or snowboarding.

Similar to other mountain resort towns, like Vail or Aspen, the town of Breckenridge is known for its sweeping vistas, world-class resorts, and upmarket real estate.

However, Breckenridge is far more conveniently located, only 1 hour and 30 minutes (or approximately 80 miles) from central Denver. If you're flying into Breckenridge, you'll probably touch down in Denver International Airport, which is around 1 hour and 45 minutes from Breckenridge by car. Otherwise, you might fly in via the Eagle County Regional Airport, which is only 1 hour and 15 minutes west of Breckenridge.

Neighboring communities include Frisco and Silverthorne to the north, as well as Alma and Fairplay to the south.

Real Estate In Breckenridge Colorado

Breckenridge is home to some of the most exclusive properties and real estate in Colorado, and likely the country.

As the old adage says - location is key. But that's not the whole story because the various condos, townhomes, lodges, and houses around Breckenridge are in themselves a sight to behold.

Many follow the popular "ski lodge" or "upscaled mountain cabin" aesthetic, including rough-hewn log exteriors, river stone walls and features, and layouts designed to enhance the view of the surroundings.

Other common details include cozy fireplaces, soaring great rooms with windows to match, large decks and balconies, an abundance of extra loft or mezzanine spaces.

The more luxurious properties will feature a host of rooms and facilities geared towards entertainment, like homes theaters, bars, wine caves, game rooms, and well-appointed studies.

For more convenience, a better price point, and additional investment options, you can also check out the many condo options in and around Breckenridge's downtown. These are often ski-in-ski-out properties, with exclusive lift access and other ski-related facilities.

They also offer convenient access to all the downtown amenities of Breckenridge, including the many stores, restaurants, and cultural attractions.

Some notable condo developments in the area include Bluesky, Main Street Junction, Mountain Thunder, Pine Ridge, Ski Hill, Elk Ridge, Beaver Run, Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Grand Timber Lodge, Cedars Townhomes, The Village At Breckenridge, and Park Place Condos

Breckenridge's Features & Attractions

It's no secret why Breckenridge is such a desirable and popular place to visit, live, and play. The mountains of the Colorado Rockies make Breckenridge an ideal location of skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer. The views, ambiance, and awe-inspiring scenery are all part of the package and infuse every moment with beauty and wonder.

Add to this the luxurious and world-class developments, which make for convenient lift access right from the front door of your home or condo, and you have a winning formula. These types of facilities also make Breckenridge condos an excellent option for vacation or rental properties. Stop in for the ski season, or to enjoy the summer sunshine, and rent your property out for the rest of the year.

During the summer you can stay to enjoy activities like hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, fishing, or even try your hand at gold panning. Take in the peaks of the 10-Mile Range, like Tenmile Peak, Atlantic Peak, Mount Democrat, and Chalk Mountain, or travel south to see the stark plains of Park County, AKA South Park.

The area is also known for its many historic sites, from historic downtown buildings to museums commemorating the frontier and gold-rush past of this area.

Breckenridge also hosts many annual events that are great for partying the night away or fun with the whole family. These include:

  • The Breckenridge Festival of Film
  • The Backcountry Film Festival
  • Ullr Fest
  • The Fourth of July parade

And to wind down you can visit the many boutique stores and enticing eateries as well.
